Soorten & Maten* is the first and only gay men's chorus of Twente, the Dutch region around Enschede (NL), next to the German border. Currently the choir has 14 singers, from Enschede, Hengelo, de Lutte and Eibergen: 4 high tenors, 4 low tenors, 3 baritones and 3 basses. The choir rehearses on Thursday nights above the gay café Stonewall in Enschede.

The repertoire mainly consists of 3- or 4-part songs with piano accompaniment. And it is very diverse: from classical songs for male voice choir to musical and pop.

In 2025 Soorten & Maten will have it's 10th anniversary and that will be celebrated in a grand way. More information will follow.

*) The name Soorten & Maten is a wordplay. Literally translated it means 'Sorts & Sizes'. (Men come in all sorts and sizes😉). But in Dutch Maten is also 'mates' and 'musical bars'.
